Le Tour de Trance

OK, this one wasn't strictly a trance night but to appeal to the mainstream masses of Oxford we headed to Annie Mac's mash up at the O2 ... the best venue Oxford has to offer but it's still flagging in the wake of London Clubs. Walking in I find that this is the closest I've seen to a good beat and a crowd in all my time in Oxford, not for want of trying. The first band that started the evening was ok, tolerable as a warm up but then what followed beggered belief. The next band to come on was so incredibly out of place bringing the most awful, slow music in when everyone was all getting ready for a big beat ... they were so bad that they were boo'd off stage ... not a common site in mainstream Oxford. Anyway, later in the evening you could hear the beat start to rise and it was obvious that Annie Mac was about to enter, then followed a few hours of really good tunes. A bit different to the normal trance of the tour as it was a mash up but nonetheless good. If the night had ended there I would have been happy with the steeper than usual (for Oxford) entry fee. But as Annie Mac left in came Herve with some great beats, much more akin to what we normally see on the tour for a great final hour of tunes, there was no way I was gonna leave early ... an awesome ending to a good night :P.
