The theatre is an unexpected venue for tour, but it's an unexpected venue for a psy-trance night too. But it was, so the tour headed to Elephant and Castle for the second time this year. What I didn't realise is that this venue is literally just across the road from Ministry, the queue for which seemed even longer than last time, gladly the queue for the Coronet was much more reasonable.
As we headed for the cloak room we ended up in a small back room where the music left a lot to be desired, a far cry from the pumping psy-trance that could be heard from the entrance. It got me wondering why people would spend all that entry money to stay in this rubbish room, must be the regulars I guess. Heading up some more stairs the psy-trance beat gets louder and louder until it opens up into the top teir of the theatre itself where suddenly this venue all makes sense. This place is designed for sound and it certainly works, from the top tier there is a great view of the main dance floor below which was slowly starting to fill up, see the pictures, they are awesome. The top tier had theatre seats too so it was a good place to chilling.
So I spent absolutely no time there and headed straight down to the dance floor and get on with the reason why we were all there, the great music, and great it was, going on to the early hours the tunes just kept coming and there was a good vibe too, not fabric level but still good :P.
This is a great venue with some good psy-trance, it maybe could have been a bit harder but it was definitely a good night had by all :P
